Why Travel Insurance?

The fear of the unknown!
People tend to fear certain events such as being stranded in a foreign country, becoming ill or incapacitated, being unable to travel home due to factors outside of their control and the safety of their family should they be unable to care for them. Travel insurance does not cover lack of funds abroad. Not being able to speak the language and unfamiliarity with local services and traditions also adds to some travellers? need for cover. These who arrange travel insurance feel more secure in the knowledge that they will have somewhere to turn, in the event of a crisis.

Types of Travel Insurance

Single Trip Travel Insurance   Annual Travel Insurance       Backpackers Insurance

Adventure Travel Insurance   Business Travel Insurance   Winter Sports Insurance

Annual or Single?

If you go on holiday more than once a year, you could find Annual travel insurance more cost effective than taking out a separate policy every time you travel. Annual travel insurance usually works out cheaper than two or three single-trip policies. So by the time you've had a week abroad and a long weekend away, you should have saved on the cost of two Single Travel Insurance policies.

Travel Insurance on the Increase

The number of holiday trips abroad by UK residents has risen by 21% since 1999. Since people are taking more holidays, there is obviously more need for travel insurance cover. The increase is mostly a result of a rising number of independent short breaks. Consumers have been encouraged to take more short breaks by the availability of cheap airfares offered by carriers such as easyJet and Ryanair. The increasing popularity of Internet services, which enable holidaymakers to quickly and easily arrange independent trips online, has also contributed to more people taking short breaks.
The number of independent holidays increased by an estimated 38% between 2000 and 2004. The number of inclusive tours has decreased by 5% over the same period.
